Can i make a cake mix if i have no oil for the recipe?

Making a Betty Crocker cake tonight ..... it calls for eggs, water or milk, and 1/3 cup oil. I am broke and have no oil in the house. If i omit the oil will it make a big difference???Can i make a cake mix if i have no oil for the recipe?
melted butter

you need some kind of fat (oil, butter, shortening)

you can melt shortening and use that too!Can i make a cake mix if i have no oil for the recipe?
Yes. use mayonaise. Sounds gross, but i promise it works. it makes it even more moist actually. I heard about it on the food network. just make sure it's the full fat kind. :) good luck.
What she said, plus another option is applesauce, or yogurt, sour cream or mayonnaise.
Yes, Thats fine. I have never heard of a cake with oil. Kinda weird tasting i would think. Maybe try and stock up on oil if your ' out of cash' when its on sale!
mayo will work quite well for you.
