hey guys I wanted to make Caribbean Christmas Cake from this site http://www.recipezaar.com/Caribbean-Chri鈥?/a> . I brought golden spice rum by captain morgan, instead of dark rum by mistake. Can I still use it in place of dark rum or will that ruin the cake/recipe? btw if any1 has other good black cake recipe please feel free to share it. also when i soak the fruits do i refridgerate it or let it sit on the counter? tyCan i replace dark rum with golden spice rum in a black christmas cake recipe?
It won't have that dark rum flavor, and will pick up the spice flavor in the spice rum. All in all I think it'll still be great :)Can i replace dark rum with golden spice rum in a black christmas cake recipe?
It will still be good. Very little difference in the final outcome. Yum!
