when i became vegan 3 months ago i really missed mudcake, i stumbled onto this recipe a few days ago and made it 3 times already, i used it as my sons birthday cake for playgroup cos some kids r allergic to egg and milk


this cake is unbeleivable





i read the comments and followed their advice, use 1 cup of cocoa instead and 2 tbs of vinegar instead of 2 tsp

i have made it.. it's WONDERFUL!! even fooled all my non-veggie friends into it.. i really didn't think it would work at first.. i didn't think it would rise and i really didn't want to taste the vinegar.. but you don't!! i LOVE IT.. i even sprinkle a few carbo chips in it before i bake it just for the extra punch.. and a great decedent frosting for it is powered sugar and Peanut Butter mixed together, then i heat it up a little bit to make it a little more spreadable.... Good stuff let me tell ya.. LOL..Vegans who crave chocolate mudcake,, have u tried the CRAZY CHOCOLATE CAKE recipe?

Never had chocolate mudcake, but always looking for a good vegan recipe. Two years and counting now. It wa easy and delicious.
Im not into being a vegan, but the recipe you're talking about has been around forever. I had this recipe given to me in the 60's. It's great!!!!!!
No, but thanks you for the suggestion. I miss mud cake too. There was a giant ';21'; shaped mud cake at my friends 21st. It took every bit of will power not to eat it =)
