this cake is made with bakers choc melted in double boiler then the caramel fillin was melted caramel squares but i cant remember what is added to it....you would put half of the choc mixture in a 13x9 dish then bake a little than take out add the caramel mixture bake a lil then take out and add the rest of the choc cake mixture....please if anyone has this i cant find the recipe anywhere and ive searched the net up and down no where to be foundDoes anyone have this cake recipe...its chocolate cake with a middle caramel layer?
1 pkg. German chocolate cake mix
30 to 35 caramels
1 stick butter (1/2 c.)
1/3 c. milk
1 c. chocolate chips
1 c. chopped pecans
NOTE: If melting the caramels in a double boiler, start this before mixing the cake.
Mix cake mix according to package directions. Pour 1/2 the batter into a greased 9 x 13 inch pan and bake for 20 minutes at 350 degrees. Melt caramels, butter and milk in top of double boiler, over boiling water or in microwave.
Pour over batter in pan. Sprinkle with chocolate chips and nuts. Pour remaining batter over top and spread evenly. Bake 20 to 30 minutes longer. Frost with German chocolate frosting, favorite chocolate frosting or serve with whipped cream.

CHOCOLATE PRALINE LAYER CAKE
鈥?1/2 cup butter
鈥?1/4 cup whipping cream
鈥?1 cup brown sugar
鈥?3/4 cup chopped pecans
鈥?1 pkg. Devil鈥檚 food cake mix
鈥? 1/4 cup water
鈥?1/3 cup oil
鈥?3 eggs
鈥?1 3/4 cup whipping cream
鈥?1/4 cup powdered sugar
鈥?1/4 tsp vanilla
鈥?toasted pecans, choc curls for garnish
Combine butter, whipping cream and brown sugar. Cook over low hear until butter is melted, stirring, Pour into 2 8-9 in round pans. Sprinkle with chopped nuts. In bowl, beat cake mix, water, oil and eggs at low speed until moistened, then beat at high speed for two min. Spoon over pecan mixture.
BAKE 325潞F for 35-40 min. Cool 5 min. Remove, cool completely.
TOPPING: Beat cream to soft peaks. Blend in powdered sugar and vanilla. Beat until stiff peaks form.
ASSEMBLE: Place on plate praline side up. Spread 1/2 topping. Repeat with 2 cake. Garnish with whole pecans and chocolate curls.
