I recall it has a yellow cake mix base and a can of cherry pie filling, but not the rest.....Does anyone have the recipe for (no joke!) Dump Cake? Thanks!?
DUMP CAKE
20 ounces crushed pineapple
16 ounces cherry pie filling
1 package yellow cake mix, dry
1 1/2 sticks butter, sliced
Dump all ingredients into baking pan and bake at 350 F until brown, approximately 1 hour.

My sis in law makes a peach dump cake. It's just pie filling, topped with white or yellow cake mix sprinkled on top and pads of butter placed on top of the cake mix, and then bake until brown.

1 (20 ounces) can crushed pineapple, undrained
1 (21 ounces) can prepared more fruit cherry pie filling
1 (18.25 ounces) box yellow cake mix
2 sticks of butter or margarine, each cut into 12 slices
1/4 cup chopped nuts (your choice - optional)
PREPARATION:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (325 for glass baking dish). Have a 9 by 13-inch baking pan ready.
Dump undrained pineapple baking dish or pan and spread it out evenly.
Using a spoon, dump globs of cherry pie filling evenly on top of the pineapple.
Sprinkle the cake mix evenly over the cherry and pineapple layers.
Cut butter into slices with a butter knife and place slices evenly over cake mix.
Sprinkle nuts on top if you're using them.
Bake for one hour.
serve warm with ice cream for a special dish

Cherry Dump Cake
1 15 oz. can crushed pineapple
1 can cherry pie filling
1 box cake mix
1/2 cup crushed pecans (opt.)
1 stick butter (cut into pats)
Layer ingredients in a 13'; x 9'; pan in order given. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.
You can change it by using chocolate cake mix and strawberry pie filling instead of cherry, or blueberry with lemon cake mix.
Dump Cake
(This is a little more detailed then the other recipes that have been given.)
1 lg can (drained) crushed pineapple
1 lg can of cherry pie filling
1 pkg yellow cake mix
1 stick of butter (cut into slices)
Put the fruit in the bottom of a 9x13 pan and sprinkle the cake mix on top of the fruit. Drop the pats of butter all over the top of the cake (make sure to spread them out). Bake the cake at 350 until the top is brown and no more powdery cake mix remains.
