Will this cake recipe actually work?

http://www.astray.com/recipes/?show=Blue鈥?/a>

I bought canned pineapple slices in their own juice and a pint of blueberries to make my dad a cake for father's day. I'm rather dubious of that recipe since it doesn't involve making a batter. Will the dry cake mix actually absorb enough of the pineapple juice to make a cake-like cake? LoL. Am I better off following a regular recipe for pineapple upside down cake and just throwing some blueberries in there? Help! Thanks. :)Will this cake recipe actually work?
What a wonderful recipe.

I'm aware of some different types of dump cakes,...those kinds that tell you just dump all the ingredients in the pan, spread evenly and bake. The recipe you are in question of follows those same lines. It should work well,...although your cake may be more like a dessert crisp or bars than the traditional looking cake.

Follow the directions closely and you will be rewarded,...Good luck :o)Will this cake recipe actually work?
This is very similar to the dump cake that was quite popular about twenty years ago. That cake worked well and was really tasty.

The difference between the two is the Dump cake called for the can of pineapple along with it's juice and a can of pie filling. The original recipe used a can of cherry pie filling but I used any type of pie filling I wanted as long as it went reasonably well with pineapple ( and I think they all did)

Pie filling might have more moisture than fresh berries so maybe you would want to try it that way for Father's day and later try it with the fresh fruit.
That recipe will probably be really good...ususally cakes made this way are called dump cakes, cause all you do is dump every thing in and bake

I have several recipes like that, and I may just try this one of yours too.

Go for it, it will be fine
Is it blueberry dump cake?

Another variation:

It appears to be more of a cobbler like dessert.
I doubt that recipe would work but it is on a site that i usually find reliable. try googling it and seeing whether you can find the recipe anywhere else.
